Already a rider? Are your skills beyond the basics and you desire to take your riding to the next level? The one-day Total Control Intermediate Riding Clinic is the ideal class for you to improve your skills on your own bike.

In California, the Skilled Rider Course is conducted as the Total Control Intermediate Riding Clinic (IRC) which is not based on the MSF curriculum. The class size is a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 12 students. The cost is $250.00. (Discount available to AVHD Riding Academy graduates, current local HOG chapter members in good standing, active military and groups of 8 or more).

Note: this is NOT a license waiver course.


INTERMEDIATE RIDING CLINIC What to expect

In the IRC you will learn the critical information and skills to make you better, more knowledgeable and a safer rider. This important next step in rider training will focus on better control of your motorcycle including: maximum braking, swerving and cornering skills. These key elements will provide considerable skill improvements and really boost your confidence out on the road.

Our dynamic classroom sections include: maximizing traction management, how to choose proper lines through turns as well as psychological aspects of motorcycling like overcoming fear, keeping your concentration and having the right attitude. This fun and exciting class will put a smile on your face and give you a whole new perspective for your next ride. INTERMEDIATE RIDING CLINIC REQUIREMENTS

To take this course you will need to provide:

  • Proof of ownership of a safe, street-ready motorcycle
  • Proof of motorcycle insurance
  • Satisfactory inspection of motorcycle
  • Signed Student Waiver & Release Forms, Ground Rules Acknowledgement Forms
  • Have a valid driver's license w/motorcycle endorsement or learner's permit

Do I need any special gear?

You'll need to bring the following:

  • A motorcycle jacket
  • Jeans, chaps, or leather pants
  • Over-the-ankle, sturdy footwear
  • Full-fingered gloves
  • A 3/4 or full-faced helmet that meets DOT requirements (loaner helmets are available)
  • Eyewear

What bike will I ride?

You will be riding your own motorcycle. All motorcycles must be street-ready and subject to a inspection prior to beginning of class session.
